Tim-Frederik Hahn

Tim-Frederik Hahn is a PhD researcher at the Institute of Intercultural and International Studies (InIIS) at the University of Bremen and a fellow at the Bremen Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS). Within the framework of the project “China’s Raw Materials Empire,” he is conducting two subprojects: (a) a comparative analysis of Chinese and US strategies for incorporating deep-sea mining into their expanding spheres of influence (together with York Frerks and Wiebke A. Rabe), and (b) an examination of Chinese and US citizens’ acceptance of their countries’ expanding raw material access strategies across land, sea, and outer space (together with Wiebke Rabe).

As part of a dual master’s program, Tim-Frederik Hahn earned a Master of Arts in Political Science from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and a Master of Science in Political Science from Stockholm University. He completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Bremen. During his studies, Tim undertook research stays at the University of Bergen and Sciences Po Paris. He holds a PhD scholarship from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation.
